Huawei continues its work in the shadow of U.S. sanctions, especially for the mid-range Nova series, amid talks about the upcoming Nova 12 series. Recently, details about these devices have surfaced, giving us insights into the user experience they aim to deliver. A recent report sheds light on whether the smartphones in this series will support 5G.

Will Huawei Nova 12 series come with 5G?

After being blacklisted by the U.S. in 2019, Huawei faced significant restrictions in using 5G technologies. Consequently, the company refrained from incorporating 5G connectivity in its flagship models for a considerable period, opting for 4G instead. However, this trend started changing recently with the introduction of 5G support in Huawei’s latest flagship smartphones, such as the Mate 60 series.

It is now rumored that the upcoming Nova 12 series by Huawei will also feature 5G connectivity. However, there is a critical detail to note: if the speculations hold true, these smartphones will be available in China with 5G and in Europe with 4G versions.

Key technical specifications of these smartphones have recently been revealed. The standard model is expected to have a second-generation curved Kunlun glass with a 120Hz refresh rate. This glass, developed over a four-year period, undergoes 108 different procedures, including 24-hour crystal enlargement and melting at 1600 degrees Celsius, resulting in a highly durable structure compared to standard glasses.

The Kirin 830 processor is anticipated to power the phone. On the back, there will be a triple camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel wide-angle macro lens. Additionally, a 60-megapixel front-facing camera is expected. The device will be fueled by a 4,800mAh battery with 88W fast charging.

The Huawei Nova 12 Pro will share similar screen features with the standard model. It is likely to be powered by the Kirin 9000S chipset, featuring a triple camera setup on the back (50MP main, 50MP telephoto, and 12MP wide-angle macro lenses) and a 60MP front-facing camera. Finally, it will come with a 4,900mAh battery capable of 100W fast charging. The smartphones, expected to support 5G, are likely to be unveiled in October or November.
